Three Reasons Why I Love Duplex Homes and Adore Duplex Builders

What is a duplex? It is a two-unit apartment building or condominium. A duplex house is a single two-unit structure but with separate entrances. It is basically two homes and occupied by two families sharing a common wall. I wouldn’t mind living side-by-side with a stranger in a duplex house since the two homes are completely separate and distinct. It is like living in two detached houses completely, except of course if my duplex neighbor loved to party all night every night with music turned to maximum.

Today, the two-unit apartment is commonplace in Victoria. There are several duplex builders constructing modern and very attractive duplex display homes. They actually work and people are buying. I live in a duplex and personally like the idea a duplex-living for three simple reasons.

One, it makes living in a rather expensive town affordable. Melbourne in Victoria is a beautiful city, clearly one of the best in the world. When I first moved here I thought it would be impossible for me to buy a house. A duplex display home made it possible.

This is especially true in other major cities around the world, Manhattan and Chicago in the United States, for instance. These are large and crowded American cities that offer a ton of opportunities to its residents. People come to these cities to work, study and start a family, but these are first-class cities and affording to buy a new home is easier said and done. Thank goodness there are duplex houses and duplex builders. There are even triplexes and quadplexes to make things much more convenient to many people.

Two, duplex homes give people like me a chance to save or make money. I don’t own an entire duplex house or apartment as of the moment but my eyes are set on buying an entire duplex and renting out the other unit. Doing so gives me the chance to save on mortgage. A number of people I know do this.

And three, I love the idea of renting the other unit for a family member that I wish to be with for a long time. For instance, I intend to rent the other unit for my mother so that I could take care of her as she grows older and would need special care and attention.
